Trek Speed Concept 9.9 Carbon Tri Road Bike Size Medium 54cm $12k MSRP 18.8 lbs!

2015 Trek Speed Concept 9 Series If you are addicted to speed, this 2015 Trek Speed Concept 9 Series will give you the fix you need. Every square inch of this bike was designed with one thing in mind: To help Trek continue it’s dominance of the Tour De France as well as in the multisport landscape of the Triathlon world. Trek has evolved the Speed Concept range of bikes into the highly refined speed weapon you see below. The 9 series has been tested against every major competitor in the wind tunnel, and Speed Concept 9 Series is the fastest. Period. Thanks to dialed-in tri-specific geometry and the lightweight, responsive feel of Trek’s meticulously engineered OCLV Carbon, the Speed Concept 9 delivers an unparalleled ride quality as well. Extraordinary integration of brakes, cabling, electronics, and storage dramatically decreases drag and saves you time at the finish! And unlike many other bikes in this genre, this bike is race-ready. There is no upgrading this bike. Starting with a Speed Concept 9.9 frame, the owner spent more then $12.500 to go this fast and made sure this bike checked ALL the boxes… Shimano’s fabulous Di2 electronic shifting system, 600 OCLV carbon frame, Bontrager Aeolus 5 TLR D3 carbon clincher wheels… and a ridiculous 18.8 lb as pictured weight. This is Ultra high performance both on the road and at the wallet! On the road, the speed concept provides powerful acceleration; credit the stiff frame, aero tubing and advanced carbon wheel set. The oversized, KVF bladed 600 OCLV carbon frame makes for a very efficient cycling package that converts all the riders input into forward motion. Other features like integrated front and rear brakes, complete internal cable routing, optional integrated DuoTrap electronics, and integrated draft box all dramatically decrease drag and save time. Very little energy is wasted in the frame due to its torsional rigidity and stiff bottom bracket. This is a very high quality frameset constructed with Trek’s high end 600 OCLV carbon fiber that is hand built in the USA. This frame will last virtually without end and will punish those that try and race her. The drivetrain consists of Shimano’s Di2 electronic Ultegra 11-speed which is so reliable, so durable and so dead perfect in the way it goes about it’s business that you’d swear you have some sort of modern automotive transmission integrated into the bike. It is that good! Shifting is controlled by shift buttons located in strategic locations on all bar ends. Shimano Ultegra cranks are 172.5mm in length and carry great mid compact 53/39t chainrings. Bontrager Speed Concept full foil aero bar are integrated like no other bike out there. These are the lowest drag, lowest profile and cleanest bar design out there. Super sleek! Braking is delivered via Bontrager Speed Limit integrated brakes controlled by Bontrager Race Lite aero brake levers. Front brake is integrated in the fork at the same time as the rear brake is integrated into the frame for minimal drag and maximum efficiency. A very comfy Bontrager Hilo RXL saddle sits a top the Bontrager carbon seatpost. This is the $250 version with the “Speed Dial” nose adjustment that allows you to set a custom saddle width to give the ultimate fit. Also, the Draft box storage compartment located between the rear wheel and the frame has the optional Draft Box Draft Bag which helps keep your items from rattling around at the same time as riding. Overall the bike shifts and ramps up to speed just as new. A Shimano Di2 charger are included with the bike. (Pedals are not included with the bike as I figure anyone looking at this level of equipment already has a favorite pedal system.) A $2700 set of Bontrager Aeolus 5 TLR D3 700c carbon clincher wheels make this bike a turn key competition level ride. The 50 mm carbon rim profile is super aero but also allows the use of tubeless tires if you wish to remove even more weight and limit flats. A wheelset such as this really does offer all the speed and performance you could want and will literally save 3-4 watts of power versus conventional road style wheels which can equal minutes off your finish time. Condition This bikes overall mechanical and cosmetic condition is just spectacular. The bike has had but one owner who rode the bike very little because, believe it or not, he actually purchased two identical versions of the same bike at the same time. One to use in events and the other to train on. But he really did neither and has now abandoned the sport and decided to trade these bikes in. (The other, identical Speed Concept is available in one of our other listings.) Both are spec’d exactly the same except one has Bontrager Aeolus 9 wheels at the same time as this one has the Aeolus 5.) This only has around 300 miles according to the owner. The only blemish I will be able to find is a slight scratch to the side of the plastic draft box. Everything else looks amazing. The claimed mileage is entirely believable based on the lack of wear to the brake tracks, chainring teeth, elbow pads and bar wrap. This is essentially a new bike in terms of condition and it runs as well as it looks. Shifting, braking and out and out speed are all here and accounted for. This thing is a freight train once up to speed… good luck catching it. Geometry The frame is a Medium which equates to a 54cm/55cm frame with an effective top tube length 51.8cm. Bike has a 30.5″ standover height. Its reach measures 23.75″ as measured from the center of the seat post saddle clamp to the center point of the stems handlebar clamp. According to Trek this bike will best fit riders from about 5′ 5″ to 5′ 10″. We offer no international shipping. Don’t ask, the request will be denied. Overseas fraud and high shipping costs prohibits it. If you are overseas and would like to purchase a bike you see simply make sure the bid you are placing is coming from within the U.S. (Ebay blocks foreign bidders on our listings) and that the ship to address is in the 48 continuous United States. I am happy to ship the bike to a friend or family member so long as they are here on domestic soil. Payment expected within 5 days of auction close. If you cannot pay in this period of time please contact us and we’ll work out something convenient for you. We are easy to deal with and want any transaction we are involved in to not only be smooth but also a pleasurable experience. Because of this bikes weight and size, shipping will be $75 and that includes INSURANCE. Please allow up to 5 business days for the bike to be packed and an additional 4 days for FedEX insured delivery. We pack all bikes on Mondays and ship on Tuesdays (weather dependent). That is not to say if you purchase a bike on a Monday from us it will be packed that same day as we may already have a full docket of bikes to pack from prior in the week. Other times, a bike purchased and paid for on a Monday CAN be packed and shipped out the following day… it all depends upon that weeks work load. So please be patient as we do our best to get the bikes out as quickly as imaginable to their new owners as we know how exciting it is getting one of the beautiful machines. Oh, also, every so often we will be able to get an email with regards to our shipping policies. To clarify these policies and time periods I will be able to tell you the following…. We use FedEX and FedEX ONLY! They are the best at handling bicycles and they do an excellent job overall to make sure these very expensive and sometimes delicate machines make it to their destinations in one piece. We hand pack every bike ourselves using FedEX approved, BIKE SPECIFIC boxes. All bikes are packed using new packing materials. All bikes are shipped with proper bicycle specific plastic packing supports in place to protect the bike from crushing side loads sometimes experienced during shipping. These include the installation of plastic fork supports to keep the front fork from penetrating the bottom of the box and dérailleur side load supports and axle shields to keep the axle of the wheels from penetrating the side of the box. Also, we insert a SECOND SHIPPING LABEL in every box in case the original label is by hook or by crook pulled off the box. This ensures that the bike will make it to it’s destination. Lastly the box is sealed with industrial box staples to keep the load securely enclosed. (These are steps that other sellers on eBay just won’t do.) Oh and if you think FedEX insurance covers the bike at the same time as under their care, think again! The last thing FedEX wants to do is pay off on a damaged bicycle claim that costs as much as some used cars. They will deny the claim for the simplest of reasons. That is why we cover all the bases. We take EVERY precaution to make sure this bike is not only packed correctly but is also covered with TRUE insurance. Packing of a bicycle takes a significant block of time if done correctly. Note: If shipping to a residence, FedEX Home Delivery is closed Sundays and Mondays. Also, we do not ship when it is raining at our location. This is because we have discovered that a wet bike box doesn’t ship as well as a dry one and we cannot control the possibility of the shipping company leaving the package in the rain, if even for a moment. Inclimate weather may lengthen the time to ship out but it is well worth the peace of mind that the bike arrives in one piece, exactly as pictured. This is one thing we will be able to say that few other sellers of pre-owned bicycles can… Our bikes will make it to you as promised, as advertised and in EXACTLY the condition that it left us. Packing a bike is something that takes experience and taking short cuts will only land you in the nightmare of the FedEX claims department which can take months to unravel. Better to do it right the first time. All bikes require a signature upon delivery. Bikes are not packed until payment is received so keep in mind that if payment takes a week to receive that means a week delay in the packing of said bike. Local pick-up is at all times available. Email communications should be sent through eBay’s messaging system itself. Paying with PayPal will expedite shipping. Pedals are not included with bikes unless otherwise noted as I figure anyone looking at this level of equipment already has a favorite pedals system. Feel free to contact me, Eric, anytime with any questions you may have. Lastly, If you have zero (0) or negative feedback, I ask that you contact me first before bidding. I reserve the right to cancel bids from such members.
