Hillman Herbert and Cooper Premier DHF – Period Lightweight “Penny Farthing” Hello, This is another fine period machine from Richards of England. Copied from an original Hillman Herbert and Cooper circa 1882 Premier DHF. This machine was once top of it’s class with it is very light weight patented double hollow fork. All 4 fork tubes are painstakingly tapered down at both ends and brazed into lugs which are connected and brazed into two bridges up at the crown. I offer The usual machine with roadster hollow rims and direct screw hubs, with alternative options such as tangent spoking and racer narrow rims. The usual saddle is a steel pan on leaf spring arrangement other options may also be discussed. Slotted adjustable cranks, spoon brake, handmade pedals all standard spec… All our machines are now traditionally coach enamelled by hand which even supposing takes a very long time feels most in keeping. The Premier DHF has real racing history and won many races with the famous George William Waller from Newcastle Upon Tyne. Take a look out for his 1879 world championship belt it has George and his DHF engraved into it. For a read up on the history follow the below links nice to see he won a race in my home town of Hull: https://heatonhistorygroup.org/2013/12/30/george-waller-geordie-world-champion-cyclist/ http://www.sixday.org.uk/html/the_beginnings.html Many other quality English machines, components made to order and full restoration work undertaken. Each and every bike comes complete with a cup of tea and a tour of the workshop if your interested in how things are made.
