Fewer than 250 of these special edition Cinellis were produced from the autumn of 1985 until spring of 1987. Antonio Columbo, new owner of the Cinelli marque, comissioned Giovanno Pelizolli to build these frames within the guise if the Cinellis that were made for the 1964 Olympics. This frame used to be ordered on the 1985 Milan Bicycle Show but didn’t arrive in to the New York distributor until 1987! It used to be sold to a California shop that never assembled it and in the end used to be purchased by MILANO SPORT in Greenwich, Ct. It used to be built up with a 1985 Campy Super record group with a Cinelli VIP bar/stem and saddle, plus a Regina CX freewhel and chain, Mavic rims and tubulars. The bike used to be ridden one kilometer after which hung up purely as a showpiece. The workmanship within the frame is exceptional and can never be duplicated. The frame measures 53 center to center or 55 cm. to the top of the seat lug with 54 cm. top tube. Rear spacing is 126.5 for 6 speed freewheels. The bar/stem combination is 65×40 bars with a 10 cm. Cinelli Record stem. Bars are wrapped in the similar suede leather as the #2 Unica Nitor saddle. Serious inquiries only please and sale of this gem could also be to local walk in customers. Packaging and shipping with insurance is $150.00 for Continental USA; more in different places by quotation.
