According to the BMC website:The frameset at the heart of the BMC Teammachine SLR02 Ultegra Di2 Bike looks a lot like the current iteration of the same frame. There are several reasons for this. The tubing shapes and lay-ups came out of the same ACE modeling program BMC employed to design the new SLR01. The geometry is equal to the new SLR01 as well. The ride, tuned for stiffness and comfort, is very much the same, too.The differences start showing up atop the seat tube. You’ll notice a round seat post, a cost-saving feature. BMC adds comfort by installing their compliancepost, with 18mm of offset. But the places you’ll be able to notice the differences the most are in the pocketbook, though when you believe that the frame, 950g in a 54 with the entire hardware, is lighter than the older SLR01, is a much better deal. This bike comes equipped with a large proportion of Shimano’s Ultegra Di2 group. The second-string electronic group from Shimano is so good you’ll be able to wonder why people wish to spend more. The battery is hidden in the seatpost and charged via a port under the stem. With an eye to maximizing performance whilst minimizing cost and weight, has Ultegra 52/36 cranks, rear derailleur, shifters, and brakes with their Ultegra 6800 chain, front derailleur, and 11-28 eleven-speed cassette.Wheel are Shimano’s WH-RS21, a bomb-proof wheelset that is good enough to race. It’s design is trickle-down tech at its best, with advances developed for Dura-Ace wheels carried out more economically, like the wide-flanged hubs, the mixed depth rims, the offset rear rim, and the legendary Shimano angular-contact bearing system. They’re dressed in 23mm wide Continental Grand Sport race tires. BMC also saves a bundle by specifying BMC bars and stem for the bike, with a comfortable ergo shape and shallow drop. These work great, though an easy place to upgrade, as you most likely already have a favorite brand and bend of bars. The BMC Teammachine SLR02 Ultegra Di2 bike is a set-up better than older SLR01, at a price that shows technology gets more accessible with time. An added bonus is the Dual Transmission Integration, this means that that if you ever come to a decision to switch to mechanical, you’ll be able to plug the holes, install stops, and run the cables externally.
